The Process
I've made it a simple, respectful process to transform your loved one's ashes into a lasting memorial piece. Here's how it works:
Step 1: Getting Started
Once you place your order, I'll send you my specially designed ash collection kit containing:
A pre-paid, addressed courier bag for safe return shipping
Two secure zip-lock bags for the cremains
A precise measuring spoon to collect the perfect amount of ash
Protective bubble wrap
A cotton drawstring bag for dignified transport
Creating Your Unique Piece
Step 2:
When I receive your loved one's ashes, the artistic process begins. You'll choose your base glaze color, but nature creates its own beautiful variations - each piece is uniquely different, just like your loved one. Some tiles develop smooth surfaces, others show gentle texturing or delicate bubbles. We carefully incorporate the ashes into a heart-shaped indent at the center of your tile.
Personal Touches
Step 3:
Your tile becomes truly personal with handwritten text - special words, names, or dates - carefully inscribed above and below the heart using our specialised underglaze pencil (printed style) or our liquid underglaze liner (script style). We also create a companion touchstone heart, using any remaining ashes. This smaller piece offers a different way to feel connected to your memories.
